Barovian Gates

The eastern entrance to Barovia. A massive set of gates approximately 30 feet tall. On either side, two 50-foot statues of armed guardians whose heads have long since fallen off and lie in the weeds at their stone feet.

The fog was present at the gates. The body of a dead young man — a messenger carrying the Burgomaster's letter — was found lying just inside. He had been dead approximately a week and showed signs of extreme exhaustion.

The party crossed through in Session 1. There is currently no known way back — the mist has consumed the road behind them.
