Known Information

Priest of the Church of the Morning Lord in the village of Barovia. Found by the party on his knees in the chapel, praying in a hoarse voice. Interrupted by his son Doru screaming from beneath the floor.

His son went to storm Castle Ravenloft about a year ago, convinced by a foreign wizard to revolt against Strahd. The revolt failed. Everyone died. Doru came back as vampire spawn. Donavich has kept him chained in the basement since then, unfed, listening to him scream. He cannot destroy him and cannot release him. He has not been in the basement for some time.

Believes the church provides protection from attack — nothing has attacked him inside. Will not leave during the night due to strange occurrences in the graveyard at midnight.

Agreed to bless holy water for Sable after the burial, at dawn, under the Morning Lord's blessing. Delivered four vials. Conducted the burial rites for Kolyan Indirovich at dawn with a full prayer.

Describes the midnight procession of souls from the cemetery as a regular occurrence — the dead march west toward the castle, as if their task is unfinished. He still prays. He says one can hope.
